THE ERTÈ — AUSTRALIAN SAPPHIRE
Another evolution of my signature Ertè, this time built around a vivid Australian green sapphire.
Acid green, moss and flashes of gold move through the stone depending on the light — a tiny, unruly bit of Australian earth sitting at the centre of something altogether more celestial.
Handmade in 9ct yellow gold, the sapphire is surrounded by the signature Ertè rising halo, sculptural stars, intricate hand-worked details and a chain-like flourish curling beneath the stone.
This one feels regal, ancient and a little dangerous. Like a relic belonging to someone important who probably met an unfortunate end.
As always, the stone came first. The rest was built intuitively around it, allowing its colour and character to dictate what the piece became. No two Ertè rings are ever repeated exactly.
Handmade in my mountain studio, with all the beautiful evidence of the maker left intact.
